University to Hold Volunteer Fair for Local Nonprofit Organizations

The University of Scranton’s Center for Service and Social Justice will hold its annual fair for local nonprofit organizations in need of volunteers on Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., on campus.

The fair provides a forum for University students and student clubs interested in service projects to meet with area nonprofit organizations offering volunteer opportunities. Last year, more than 800 students and 60 nonprofit organizations participated in the fair.

Each year more than 2,800 University students perform well over 170,000 service hours, much of it through local organizations. The University of Scranton has been nationally recognized for its service efforts and has been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.
